LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION

The Bessemer Township board of trustees is excited to share an update that the lights have been installed in Bessemer Township Memorial Park at the Basketball and Tennis Courts! Previous donations from the 4th of July Committee (Heritage Committee) And the graduating Class of Val Tadlock and the Tadlock Family made the project possible. The township is elated to welcome our youth and others to enjoy shooting the hoops on a lit court to enhance safety and the ability to take advantage of nice weather even when the days are short!  The tennis court is marked for Pickleball lines as well. Anticipating the installation of the lights has met some challenges with the project delays due to COVID. But we are FINALLY able to share an update that the project is completed.  Great News.  Stay tuned for more updates on the Bessemer Township Memorial Park.  There are a number of planned installations to enhance your visit to the beautiful home of the Keystone Bridge.

In other news, work continues in partnership with Xcel energy to get the lights back on in the softball field and the new scoreboard. We welcome the Gogebic Miners Girls softball team to the field as their home field, and can’t wait to hear the joy of the game.
