SAMPLE CORRESPONDENCE TO MICHIGAN LEGISLATORS:

October 25, 2021

Dear

I am a Bessemer Township resident and am urging you to help our township with the acquisition of our post office that was take away over two years ago.  We have had town meetings with post office officials, promising forward progress, yet we have seen NOTHING!  There is a lease agreement in place and a site selected, which is directly across from the township hall.  Neither the land-owner nor the township board has been given any information on an accurate time line.  There has been the exact same “canned” email response sent to many of us.

We miss our post office and are frustrated to have to travel one town over to get and send out our mail.  I have tried by contacting Bruce Adams at:  bruce.e.adams@usps.gov

(248-524-6617) to no avail.  Our township board has also been looking for answers as well.  Can you help?  Our township would surely appreciate it especially with the winter months approaching again and our elderly wondering how often they will be able to get their mail.

With thanks,
